FUREE is Ten Years Old!

Ten years ago, FUREE was founded by a group of 15 women living on public assistance to fight for racial, gender and economic equity. Since then, we’ve reached to over 25,000 people, developed hundreds of leaders and won victories that impact thousands of low income and working class people of color in Brooklyn and New York City.

We wouldn't be here today, causing trouble for the powers that be, if it wasn't for the support of donors and allies who believe in the power of grassroots leadership!

We're inviting you to help us mark a decade of building FUREEous power at our Tenth Anniversary Celebration, featuring an exciting retrospective of our work and inspiration from acclaimed poet, Sonia Sanchez and activist professor, Frances Fox Piven

The program will also feature honorees, musical performances and a tribute to Sandra Robinson and Randy Leigh through the unveiling of the Sandra & Randy Fund, a leadership development initiative!

It wouldn't be a FUREEous celebration without delicious food (French-Moroccan fusion), an open bar, music and dancing at the gorgeous La Vie Restaurant and Lounge!

General ticket prices are $50 and $30 for FUREE Members (sliding scale). We hope that you will also  support FUREE by being a sponsor to ensure the next decade of building grassroots power to win racial, gender and economic justice in Brooklyn!
